Multi-Unit Housing Policy Development
Multi-Unit Housing Policy Development In August 2016, the City Council directed staff and the Health and Safety Commission to pursue a policy that would expand smoking regulations in multi-unit housing. The Commission deliberated on the policy at ten public Commission meetings and two special public outreach meetings. Update (10/03/2017): The Beverly Hills City Council has adopted the Smoke-Free Multi-Unit Housing Ordinance. Update (9/21/2017): The Beverly Hills City Council has passed, on a first reading, an ordinance that would prohibit smoking in multi-unit properties such as apartments, duplexes and condominiums. The ordinance is scheduled for a final vote and adoption at the October 3, 2017, City Council Formal Meeting. For more information please see the attached press release.
